Travelling to Tampere

The city of Tampere is located 180 kilometres north of the capital city, Helsinki. Travelling to Tampere is easy due to its closeness to two international airports (Tampere-Pirkkala and Helsinki) and good road and rail connections from Helsinki.

If arriving to Tampere-Pirkkala airport, you can take a bus or taxi to Tampere city center.

If arriving to Helsinki airport, you have the option of either a bus or train to Tampere.

Note that the International Week programme start on Monday 9 May with lunch at 12:00 o’clock. You may need to arrive in Tampere the previous day in order to be here on time.

Accommodation in Tampere

There are various hotel and hostel options in Tampere. It is advisable to book a hotel in the city centre which makes it more convenient for you to move about in Tampere. Recommended hotels include Holiday Inn Tampere Central Station, Cumulus Koskikatu, Sokos Hotel Villa, Sokos Hotel Torni, Sokos Hotel Tammer, Sokos Hotel Ilves, Scandic Tampere City, Scandic Tampere Station, Omenahotelli, and Dream Hotel.
